strategic resources have more uses and can be more rare, incentivising more trade they form a galactic terrain which makes the galaxy feel unique. the galaxy visuals are better than stellaris and ES2, because in galciv3 there are many ponits of interest (starbases, nebulae clouds, black holes, star storms etc.) directly on the galaxy. ship design is a HUGE plus point and throws - especially in the visual department - every other 4x sci fi game (or 4x game in general) out of the water strategic resources and the game economy on a whole feels very tight and it increases the amounts of thoughts you put into it (in ES2 i am mostly swimming in money / dust.i don't feel much worth out of it atm.it (dust) being the main lore point it feels kinda sad) the colony developement is more detailed and feels more meaningful than in ES2 (and more meaningful than in stellaris or other games.pre-crusade addon this was not the case.now the economy is spot on). has a higher moddability and an already well established mod community has better AI (of course this game has more time after release on its side) the maps are MASSIVE and the galaxy creating is much more indepth (might be considered a + towards the 1st point) THIS is a strength it also has over stellaris which can feel finnicky if you have to direct your fleets hitting some very small dots on the big map. the game has an open galaxy (no nodes connecting a system, free flight in the whole galaxy. the game in genral feels more of a great sci fi sandbox way better customization in terms of fleets and race. GalCiv3 - Crusade (with all content dlc except the campaign ones): I think the strength of each game is as follows: galciv3 crusade having the overall better ui and some more content of course due to some more dlc and the expansino pack. I think endless space 2 and galciv3 are on equal footing regarding features depth and diversity / entertainment. just establishing that i think it's safe to assume i am not a fanboy of either galciv3 or ES 2 (in total preferring distant worlds universe and stellaris tbh). I played till a couple days before ES2 release galciv3 crusade (around 10 hours) and i played a couple of hours endless space 2 now, which again i bought after release. i bought endless space 2 during early access (after 1st patch i think), but i refunded it. I bought galciv3 during EA at a sale (50% off), but didn't really play it at realease (or at a whole).
